Bilstein Lever-Style Jack (Shorter Vehicle Insert Rod)

Pre-1969 VW Beetle Jack

Because the insertion rod is shorter, this model jack is closer to the side of the vehicle when in use. To help protect the vehicle finish, these jacks were delivered with a rubber ring that fits around the top of the shaft. Unfortunately, the paint protectors quickly failed because the rubber tore. The longer insertion rod on the Porsche 914 lever-style jacks resolved this problem.
