Notes & Events
Please
be aware that this site is constantly under development. That, combined
with a general lack of Web design skill, makes it very likely that you
will see some weird things on this site every once in a while as we blunder
through various changes and updates. Consider it comic relief.
Buttons that lead to pages that are still under development will not be
active. For instance, we have not completed the "Lenses"
section of this site which will eventually contain information on all the
lights and lenses that originally came on Porsche®
914 and Porsche 914/6 vehicles (with pictures and descriptions of model
year variations). Right now, only the Driving Lights, Rear Reflectors, Turn Signals and
Tail Lights pages of that section are done, so they are the
only active buttons on the "Lenses" page. Additional buttons on that page
will be activated as those subsequent pages are populated. We think this
is better than wasting your time by taking you to "placeholder"
pages.
Google's
index of this site has improved considerably, so the
P914.com search capability is actually becoming fairly robust, providing a
good alternate method of navigating the site.
NOTE:
We need more pictures of original color cars to fill in the PAINT
section, specifically 1975-1976 model years. As always, full recognition
will be given for submissions (if desired). Please send your pics to ContactUs@p914.com
March
25, 2008: The NUMBERS section
continues to grow. We have recently activated the ACCELERATION
section which contains pages with acceleration charts and information on
each of the stock Porsche 914 four-cylinder engine and transmission
combinations. Be sure to check it out!
March
28, 2008: The NUMBERS section
expands again with the CHASSIS
DIMENSIONS section containing pages with measurement diagrams
reproduced from respective model year Porsche 914 owner's manuals.
April
15, 2008: Welcome to our new Web
server!!! Hopefully, you are seeing faster page loads from our
new hardware. If not... well, sorry, but our bandwidth is quite limited.
This is, after all, a free site. Anyway, with the change to new hardware,
you can expect to see an even higher frequency of bizarreness as we work
out configuration kinks. If you were visiting today, there was a high
probability that you were cut off during one of the many server reboots.
Sorry, but the road to Progress has many bumps.
