Porsche 914 & 914/6 Interior (Rear View) Mirrors
Large or Small?
The Porsche 914 and Porsche 914/6 rear view mirrors are mounted
directly to the windshield. They have a simple ball-in-socket pivot
design
and a night setting toggle. Normal problems experienced with the
interior mirrors include wear to the glass backing, pivot loosening
resulting in annoying mirror vibration and adhesive failure causing the
mirror to fall off the windshield. The pictures to the right compare
the early
and later style mirrors (later style shown on top in each picture). As
you can see, the mirrors had a growth spurt between the 1972 and 1973
model year production runs despite sharing the same part number.
